SCOTT MILNE CALLS FOR OUTLAWING FEDERAL FUNDS BEING USED TO BUILD ANYTHING NAMED FOR INCUMBENT SENATORS OR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.
Pomfret, VT (June 16, 2016) – U.S. Senate candidate Scott Milne announced he will propose legislation outlawing the use of taxpayer money to fund anything named for a sitting member of Congress, if elected.
“As I listen to Vermonters” said Milne, “I am hearing loudly and clearly that people are tired of career politicians who run big-money campaigns funded by lobbyists and special interests, and it’s even worse that they use taxpayer dollars to promote themselves. America has a 19 trillion dollar debt. I believe that it is wrong for the elected ones to have buildings, highways, programs, or anything else funded by taxpayers named after themselves. Being a Senator or a member of Congress should be about public service, not about building a climate of taxpayer funded self-promotion,” said Milne.
