North Pomfret – The Scott Milne for Lieutenant Governor campaign announced today the endorsement of former Vermont Governor Jim Douglas.

“I am honored to have the support of Governor Douglas, who is a model of competence, civility, and service,” said Milne. “In both style and substance, Governor Douglas demonstrated the best of what our political leaders should be.”

“I am pleased to offer my enthusiastic support for Scott Milne to be our next lieutenant governor,” said Douglas. “Scott’s experience as a small businessperson and job creator is sorely needed in Montpelier as Vermont works to defeat COVID-19 and reopen the economy.”

Douglas continued, “I know how important it is for a governor to have a partner as a lieutenant, and Scott Milne will make a terrific teammate for Gov. Scott as they work to bring us through the pandemic, jumpstart our economy, and put Vermonters back to work.”

Governor Douglas joins Governor Phil Scott and 38 currently elected Republican legislators to have endorsed Scott Milne for Lt. Governor ahead of the August 11th primary. Jim Douglas was Governor of Vermont from 2003 to 2011.
