Gray Claims She “Doesn’t Know Anything About” The Dark Money PAC Despite Having Direct Connections To Three Of The Four Directors

CLAIM: Gray Says She Doesn’t “Know Anything About” Alliance For A Better Vermont. “On Tuesday, Gray responded to Milne’s claim that the organization was started by her advisers and allies, by saying that she doesn’t ‘know anything about the PAC.’” (VTDigger, September 29, 2020)

TRUTH: Molly Gray’s Legal Advisor Incorporated The PAC. Filings with the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office show that Jacob Perkinson–former Chair of the Vermont Democratic Party–incorporated the PAC.

  • TRUTH: Jacob Perkinson Is A Legal Advisor To Molly Gray. “Samantha Sheehan, Gray’s campaign manager, provided VTDigger with a legal opinion written by Burlington attorney Jake Perkinson, a former chair of the Vermont Democratic Party who said he supports Gray’s candidacy. In that opinion, he concludes that he believes she is eligible.” The same Jacob Perkinson has given legal advice to Gray and her campaign.” (VTDigger, 7/10/20)
