Scott Milne Announces Four Franklin County Democratic Endorsements

The Scott Milne for Lieutenant Governor campaign today announced four additional endorsements from Democratic leaders in Franklin County. These new endorsements are the latest sign of growing bipartisan support for Milne’s candidacy amid Molly Gray’s continued struggle to coalesce her own party behind her candidacy.

“In these uncertain and unprecedented times, we need someone with real business experience in the Lieutenant Governor’s Office,” said Marty Manahan, former Democratic Mayor of St. Albans. “Scott Milne is the right person at the right time to partner with Governor Scott, help us tackle COVID-19, and use his business experience so we can emerge from the current crisis more resilient than ever.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of these accomplished Democratic leaders,” noted Milne. “As Vermont’s next Lieutenant Governor, I will work tirelessly across party lines to find common ground on the key issues facing Vermonters.”

Those endorsing Milne today are:

  • Fmr. St. Albans Mayor Marty Manahan (D)
  • Fmr. Rep. Dick Allard (D-St. Albans)
  • Fmr. Rep. Stephen Allard (D-St. Albans)
  • Dan Luneau, former St. Albans City Alderman (D)

These four Democratic leaders join the seven other prominent Democrats and Independents who have stepped across the aisle to endorse Milne, including:

  • Senator Debbie Ingram (D-Chittenden County)
  • Fmr. Senator Bob Hartwell (D-Bennington County)
  • Rep. Linda Joy Sullivan (D-Dorset, Peru, Landgrove, Mt. Tabor, Danby)
  • Rep. Chris Bates (D-Bennington)
  • Rep. Terry Norris (I-Shoreham, Orwell, Whiting, Benson)
  • Fmr. Rep. Michael Reese (D-Pomfret, Barnard, Hartford)
  • Jim Salisgiver of Dorset (Member Dorset Selectboard, Vermont School Board Association, Bennington Rutland Supervisory Union, and the Taconic and Green Regional School Board)
